You sure are correct mother - this
week is transfers! Tomorrow morning I am being transfered to a new
area called Bani. It's like a campo area surrounded by mountains and is
super nice i have heard. An Elder i am living with right now was there
before and he loved it! He said it's a great area so i'm excited for that! I
guess it's got some beaches around it so there are alot of Americans
that go there so that will be interesting as well but we shall wait and
see. About my new comp, i can't tell you who is he, haha, nobody knows
him so he is probably younger but he is latino and nobody is sure what
his name is exactly so when i figure that info out i will be sure to let
ya'll know! My last week here in Bayona has been great! We were very
close to having the baptism - it was up until the last second and he felt
like he should wait a little longer but he will be baptized soon I'm sure of it! I'm a
little bummed just because i wanted to be here to see it since i have
taught him ALL 3 transfers while here in Bayona. But the Lord knows what
he is doing so im going to just go with it! Good old Elder Stewart
is doing good! He is doing great for sure - it's
been good being able to see him a couple of times here and there! I
have a question - I have been thinking, i always have new things to study...
i'm right now studying D & C with a like institute manual thing and it's
crazy how much you can learn and how much one single verse really means -
this book is amazing! It goes through each and every verse and explains
it! It's crazy cool so i have been enjoying that for
sure! But i was thinking that maybe you guys could begin to send
me talks or subjects on what you guys study or find interesting as well. There
are a couple of elders in my zone now that always get talks and other
things from there parents and all of them have been so cool to read and
learn from so if you all have time i would love to start receiving
something like that! Also about that family - it was bad but even
though that husband moved out for a little we kept passing by the house
of that lady and she actually has been doing better she tells us she
wants to read the Book of Mormon still and talk to us and go to church
so hopefully things work out there. Also yesterday we
figured out that they are getting back together so thats something good
as well just because the first option is to keep the family together so
i'm excited to hear what happens to that little family after im gone! Also we have been teaching this little family of a single mother with 2
boys and they have a ton of interest and already have lots of friends in
the church and they went this last week and were loving it so even
though i'm excited to go work somewhere else i still feel sad leaving
here just because towards the end here we have been picking up some
really great people! Maybe my job was just to find them and plant the
seed rather than be here for the baptism!? It's been a great time here
in Bayona - i love this area - it's one that i would love to come back to
after the mission for sure! A little something fun for you all that i
have been studying is a talk by someone, i forgot the name, but they are
talking on the Premortal life and life now and how things could be
afterwards! It talks that in the premortal life we were just about how
it is now - we had church and church buildings - we had leaders or others
that progressed faster than others in the pre earth life and talks about
those that were foreordained to be prophets and things and how they
first held responsibilities in the premortal life before coming and
taking their callings here on the earth. But it talks about how the
purpose of the premortal life was to prepare us for coming here or
better said it was like what we are doing here, we are progressing and
preparing to live with our heavenly father again. The talk says that it
was the same in the premortal life - that our goal was to progress to
eventually come here but also it talks of wayward children that fall
away from the gospel and how at times that is part of God's plan. It said
that part of god's plan to bring about generations is some families that
may have fallen away before, recieve a child that is super progressed, i
guess you could say, in the premortal life to come here and to be an
example to the family and that's why at times you see that some families want
nothing to do with the church then all of a sudden one that is in tuned
with the spirit in the family becomes converted and starts generations. It's super interesting! There is a ton more but it's too hard to type and
tell you all about it but i will look at the talk and tell you what its
called next week so maybe you all could read it for yourselves. It was a
crazy interesting talk so i'll see what i can do for ya'll there! But
that's about what's going on with Elder Reidhead! :)
That's cool Tyler Johnson is leaving so early. I
thought he was going to wait a year and then go but its better to get
going and hit the mission! That's cool he will be talking Spanish! Tell him congrats and all! Jeffrey - i thought he had one more
year of glory but still that's incredible that he lifted so much, haha,
crazy kid! I think that's soo awesome Morgs had the trek - was that her
first one? I love the trek - it was one of my most memorable experiences
from before the mission! Hopefully she had a great time! Where was it at this year? She got lucky
with a great ma and pa as well - that's cool to hear! Sounds like the heat
is getting crazy there! It's hot here but its like Nadia explained - it's a
different type of heat - there it is super dry and all but here it's a bunch
of sun and super super humid! It's crazy! You are rarely dry, haha! You just
feel wet all the time and that's why mold is so common here - everything gets
moldy! As for the rain, yeah, it has been raining quite a bit but not a
ton. I would say at least 3 times a week but rainy season is coming up and that's
when it rains all day everyday for a while, haha. Yep - the year mark is
crazy to think about and overall i would say that this year flew by as
well! At times it was a bit slow but overall things are flying by and at
times I honestly wish it would slow down a little, haha. I just feel like
there is so much to do in such little time! Sounds like it was a
great sabbath for you guys - that's great to hear! Well, sure love
you all and it was great to hear how you all are doing and that things are
going great! Thanks for the email - it's always a pleasure to hear from you
all!!! By the way - big old Casey got back from the mission huh? That's
way awesome! Tell him congrats! Hope you have a
great week and i'll hear from you soon! love you! xoxo!
Elder Reidhead
