Hey mom and Family!
I'm doing as great as ever! It was another good Pday. We went and played some baseball at the park and it was fun stuff! We ended up losing so that was the bad part but we had fun still! It's been a pretty great and relaxing day overall. This week also was super great - we had a pretty good week and have found some more people to teach and our investigators are progressing very well! About your comment about spiritual experiences, I'll try to do better on that because that happens, of course, but some are too spiritual to share as dad and the boys can relate! Just a little one for you guys - we are teaching a family that is going to end up getting baptized I'm pretty sure! But at first the man of the house was very receptive to the gospel and we taught his wife a couple of times but then she all of a sudden was done sharing with us because she was comfortable with her catholic church. Well the man progressed super well and has a date for next week but we are actually going to change his date because it started with this past fast sunday, me and my comp decided to fast for her and that she would gain a desire to share with us. That sunday she surprised us and showed up to the church. We passed by and she was still a little hesitant but a little more relaxed around us. We prayed and prayed for her and then one day we showed up and we didn't at first know what we were going to share but I had an impression that we should share about the family. Then I felt that we should invite her to participate so we did and she accepted. We talked about the Temple and how families can be eternal then watched a little Mormon message about families and afterwards her husband, who is progressing a lot, started to share his testimony and it was so sincere and powerful and the spirit was definantly there! It was great! After that lesson she has now gone to church 3 times and loved it and participates and also shares with us. We actually have a family night with them tonight and it should be great! It just opened my eyes to the power of prayer and fasting but also showed me that even people not of our religion feel something when we share about family. The family is something so important and as children of our Heavenly Father, all of us have some type of interest or respect for the family even if you aren't religious! This was just one of the many experiences I have had here in the mission and there are plenty more in my journal! The things that I have been studying very hard as of lately is the atonement of Christ and developing the Christlike attributes like in Chapter 6 of Preach My Gospel and it's so crazy how much you learn and once you do in depth studies on each one you find that they all intertwine somehow - it's crazy! That's about where I am right now! We also have a baptism this saturday for a young man named Derrick and he is a reference from the bishop and super golden! He is super ready and actually wants to leave with us to preach every friday, haha! He is awesome! I'm so excited for him! He is super smart!
I wish I would have known about what Rachel said about her parents being in the area office at the Temple. I went to the temple grounds today for an elder in our house that has a super bad rash so he visited the doctor at the mtc here and it's right next door to the temple so I could have asked for them and all but we are going to the temple here soon so we shall see what happens - maybe i'll see them! Tell Rachel I'll work on getting that letter to her haha! That's also great to hear about Daniel and how he was able to go to church and liked it! Keep up the good work there! I hope to hear that he is getting baptized here soon! :)
Sounds like the business is growing a ton and you are all progressing there! Great to hear you guys were able to attend the baptism of that hispanic lady and you were touched! It's possible that it's the same but i'd like to see one in the states as well just to see how similiar it is! I'm glad you all were able to feel the spirit so strong and have that experience! Know that I love you all so very much as well! The work is progressing and things are going great! My week was good and all! I know what you mean about pictures - the internet place does do it now but i'm going to wait just a couple more weeks as we have some baptisms coming up so after all that I will get them sent off for you all! Sorry it's taken so long! Love you all so very much! Thanks for your support and all and we will talk next week! Keep doing the best and nothing but the best as the Reidhead Family! Love you all! Talk to ya soon!
Elder Reidhead
