It's been a pretty nice day here as well...of course hot but has somewhat cooled down as well, haha. Mirians baptism was amazing!!! I had the privilege to baptize her and it was an awesome experience as always just to watch someone enter a covenant with our Heavenly Father and enter the waters of baptism! As for the Haitians, we have taught them quite a few times and they have a ton of questions so it's great! They came to church and enjoyed it so we shall see what happens this week. Blandy has been going with us so he can translate if we need him to but in Haiti, I don't know if ya know, but they speak a language called Creole and its so crazy but i want to learn it, haha! It's only spoken in a couple of countries though. It's the language they made up back in the day when slavery was big and so they made their own language to talk in so the slave owners wouldn't understand and now its their national language - its really cool! Our other investigators are progressing as well so that's great as well!!!
This week is a big week! Elder Phillips did go home and he was ready, haha! I really enjoyed having him as a companion. We got along well and it was a good way to start the mission! His parents did not come pick him up or anything and about the SD card, I forgot to give it to him. I gave him mail for Clayton and things but I forgot the SD card, dang it!! I'll try that Costco thing next week because I'm staying at the zone leaders house for a couple days until my comp shows up and things. I don't have my thing to plug into the computer but next week I'll try it out because I do have quite a bit of pictures! I'm staying in my area again which I'm just fine with, no worries! My new companions name is Elder Wilson and he is pretty new as well - he only has 4 transfers. I'm excited to receive him tomorrow and get to work again!!! Man I love this work - I get the chills just talking about it!! It's so awesome to be here and be a full time servant of Jesus Christ! This week I concentrated my studies a lot on Service and the Atonement of Jesus Christ and if you all have time I would like ya all to read in the conference edition of last October, I believe, but its a talk on service from President Eyring and it's amazing! It's called opportunities to do good! It's an amazing talk!
So glad to hear you and Dad are doing wonderful - that makes me happy to hear. Dad sure is an amazing dad! He definitely received divine revelation for our family especially with the early morning study of scriptures as a family! That's something I'll never forget! It's something that's helped me in the mission a lot! Alot of missionaries have a problem either getting up in general or staying awake during study! But it's brought our family alot closer I believe! I saw the pictures of Clayton's buck, that's way awesome! He has a nice little beard as well, haha. He is lookin' good and sounds like his kill is already coming in handy for dad and all! Let old Thunder know I love him too! Love his stories and imagination haha! Good old dad happy about the kill that's awesome, glad you guys enjoyed it! Yeah, I heard about Mogollon and loosing from coach Tenney and all the updates. It's all good - life goes on! There is a lot more important things although those things are fun! Awesome to hear about Morgs making the basketball team! I wrote her last week asking about that but glad she is enjoying her junior year! Tell her to keep up the good work and stop worrying about boys ha! Dang Jeffrey broke his foot, huh?! How is Ethan doing by the way?? Glad to hear everything is great with the little Johnson family! When is the test for Paul!? I'm glad he is taking care of my sister and allowing her to be a stay home mom - way to bring the bacon to the table Paul haha!
Also glad to hear about the package! It seems like every week something new comes up that ya want. I'm sure Clayton, Jordan and Paul can relate to that, haha! I'm excited to get it! Anyways, that's what's happening here in the DR! Things are great and I'm healthy and strong and I am loving the work and the time I have had here so far. It grows better everyday! Do know I love ya family! Keep up the good work back home - don't forget your purpose as missionaries and that's to help others come unto Christ! Love ya again, glad to hear everything is going great! We will talk to ya guys next week! Have a great week!!!
Love, Elder Reidhead
